Video on Kanchi case
I happend to get a forward, which contained the speech of Dr.Subramaniam Swamy, made in New Jersey on July 23rd, 2005.
It gives a stronger defence case.
Some parts might sound strange, but as he says, Truth is Stranger than Fiction.
Listen to the following and fyi, i donot have any political affiliations :)

Its high time, we HINDUS standup against these ppl who try to do business by giving biscuits to convert them to their religions!!
Our religion has enough strength and power to overcome these thukuda pasangas!!

it was a good and thought provoking speech...as you said, gives a strong defence of the case..
There were different other reasons also told like Tamilnadu Hospitals issue, binami problem, to punish him for showing JJ wrong way (as many of the ordinances like anti-conversion law, killing animals in temple festivals, etc. had Swamigal's blessings) and some more..but most of things pointing 'Thozhi' (Sasikala) but none (even the media) hadnt told a single word about questioning her on this case ;(
Btw, in Trichy, you might be knowing a place called Mary's thope (near periya kadai veedhi). It is a small colony. All families in the entire colony ware converted to christianity sometime in 50s or 60s by giving them money exploiting their monetary needs.
Govt should take actions to prevent these fraud conversion institutions activities...but, namma neram, we have a wrong group on the top (not manmohan, who is just a toy, but the European advisors to Sonia, who are really running the govt. ;(
But still, IMO, Hinduism is more than a religion..its a way of life...makkal idha purinju nadandhaale, we can make those conversion institutions run out of our country....
nice that this issue is being spoken of.the trial b4 judgement by the media was outrageous.
I think it is improper on the part of both mediapersons as well as politicians to comment freely on a matter Sub-Judice thereby displaying patent disprespect for the judiciary.
Having said this I do not wish to comment on this.
Btw TJ what does your last comment on my blog indicate - do you accept my position or Swami's I was not sure of your conclusion.

The point he was raising was not relating to the judicial or inference point of view. His was only regarding the reactional point of view of the politicians, the public and the implications of the whole thing to the Hindu society. "Why did congress pass any comment of the arrest? Or why was he not given a house arrest option against Jail?" are questions which are questions that are completely unrelated to the merits of the case and hence is in no way related to the matter being sub-judice.

Interesting spin by Swami. Here is the question, he wants the judiciary to take normal course on Jayalalitha's cases and even applauds the American public prosecutor for upholding judicial values but he wants the government to interfere on this one. !! ?. being a politician; his reasons for the arrest have to be taken with a pinch of salt. In the end he wants to blame, Sonia ?, it is just another ploy / opportunity for him to play the religious card to achieve his political goal. He opposes conversion, but never says why it is happenning, who these people are and why they are getting converted ?. Like all politicians he just wants to graze the top grass, never would like to the get to the roots. Should we not ?.
Maamus plz understand. Religion is a consumable. Politicians use it like free dhotis and free rice. Religion is a weapon. Rulers use it against thier enimies and thier own people. Hinduism is a very flexible religion. I can choose who my god is and which temple I will go. But Hinduism is rigid on castism. Think why people seek alternative religion.
You do have lots of conversions from Christianity to Muslim, Muslim to Buddism and Where ever to where ever. Who are these people - 4th and beyond.
Politicians use religion.
Remember development of nation has to include those down troddens.
I really admire how you dudes cant forget your India. Why do you then leave all this and go to America and Europe. Why dont you stay in your towns and villages and develop it and enjoy the serenity that is only in your dreams.
Live your lives instead of wondering why all your causes are lost and taken over by foreigners. If you leave your house and sit in anothers only then you realise the value of the protection it gives you. While you use your labour to keep another house clean your own is collecting cobwebs. Then surely somebody will enter and clean it. And change it from what you are used to. As much as you clear the cobwebs in your new house and change it to your taste.
Do not complain and give up your brothers and sisters back home because then they will accept the mercy of the one who is there for them (instead of the ones who have all talk but no action) and realise the truth of living in a system that decides from their birth what their fate is. Then they get moksha by going to another system that offers real rewards.
