Success of the Reservation Policy!!

The headline news in dinamalar on Friday has proved that the purpose for which reservation system was brought in Tamilnadu has been achieved.

The article says, out of around 1500 Medical seats, 464 seats were for open competition [after the 69% reservation]. In the 464 seats, the Communities-Not-Benefiting-From-Reservation [sorry, I can’t call them ‘Forward’ communities], have just managed to take only 59 seats [abt 12.7% in open competition]. This turns out to be about 4.22% of the overall seats, which is close to the percentage of the population CNBFR have in the society.

This is what the visionaries of the Social Justice movement in Tamil Nadu wanted and they have achieved what they wanted. Hats off!! Every field, every opportunity in the country will have to be distributed to the people based on the percentage in the population is the policy of most of the political organizations today. This takes them one step closer to what they aim for.

Now, that the whole system has become a success, and Social Justice has been established, is it not time to start reducing the quotas. [which was supposed to start 10 years after independence??]

Or is it not time to make significant changes in the program to assist the people who have either remained or moved to the lower strata of the social structure due to the churning of the society in the past 50 years in the name of ‘social justice’.

Murpatta vaguppirkku "verum" 4%

The way this small line has been framed clearly portrays the hatred these rogues have towards the "Communities-Not-Benefiting-From-Reservation".

96% for the "Priveleged" Classes..

I could very clearly foresee India's fate after 10 years. I wud look at it with my heart brimming with joy , clapping my hands in glee, with my children studying and doing good in a foreign land where their merits and potential are given due respect.

uff.. lxsn in ur acidic best again!!
the cut off between OC and BC is just .24 out of 300. It would mean more that the cream of BCs and MBCs have grown as good as the so called CNBFR. But it still remains that lot more are there how need genuine support.

reservation has benefitted no1, MBBS seat in govt college irrespective of community u need sbasu, if private college u need money (irrespective of community) it hsnt reached those who need it, but has lead to those who have money CNBFR to leave india, a sort of brain drain.
its a political gimmick, reervation is a total failure, those affected are the poor of all communities not just CNBFR

I am sorry to hear this news but I must say this.

It is true that Brahmins and other so called forward communities are being subjected to reverse-discrimination in the name of reservation. It is also true that in the medieval ages some brahminical authorities made a mess of society by distirting the chaturvarna system into a rigid and irrational structure from what was actually quite different to begin with.

we who understand the concept of KARMA can think that we are paying the price for the activities of those ancestos who forbade peple to even walk on the same road used by them. enna seivadhu, andru ANdhanargal porumaiyaium ahimsaiyayum kadaipidipathai vittu adakkumuraiyai kaiyaandathaal naam avadhipadugirom.
idhai anubhavittu thaan aaga vendum, pleas do not mistake me, I am not adopting a moralistic tone, in fact I did face the impact of this system called reservation when I passed out of 12th with merits and a top 0.01% certificate from CBSE.

@ranganathan,
Correct, Tamilnaatla irundha 4% kkula vara alavukku arivaliya irukkanum. :(

@vatsan,
Reservation in the current format is defnintely a gimmick. The worst part is, nobody would ever care to change it because it wud cost them the votes.

@priya,
nekkum kashtmadhaan irukku. what we can do is,
1. in a democracy, unless constitutionaly protected, the minority rights can never be held. Adhnaala, current system la no scope. Nobody cares for the 4% voters, who hardly go to vote
2. Setting up trusts to help the CNBFR, which needs Unity, ironically, the word we ppl dont know what it means. :(

@uma,
there is a long standing need to revise the policy, but know is to bell the cat.. 96% is happy with status quo. :(

@Chakra,
